Come Visit Kitchen Magic This Weekend!

If you're going to be at the LEGOs Kid Fest at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT, like the "folks" above are, stop by and say hello to your friends at Kitchen Magic. We'll be on hand today until 8 p.m., tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There'll also be dozens of interactive things to do, life-size and miniature LEGO models,  and build, race and play booths.

You'll also find us in Danbury, CT, at the Danbury Holday Spectacular Arts & Crafts Fair, Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In New York, you'll find Kitchen Magic at the Fall Green Living Expo in Brentwood, NY, , along with some of the starts from TV's Top Chef. Hours are Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We'll also be at the East Islip Craft Fair in East Islip, NY, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; at the Valley Stream High School Craft Fair in Franklin Square, NY, Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and at the Staten Island Holiday Fair in Staten Island, NY, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you're headed to the Meadowlands Pet Expo in Secaucus, NJ, you'll find Kitchen Magic on hand Sautrday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. We'll also be on hand at the Englewood Holiday Craft Boutique in Englewood, NJ, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; at the Three Bridges Vendor Show in Three Bridges, NJ, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; at the Belvidere Vendor Show in Belvidere, NJ, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; at the Columbus Market in Columbus, NJ, Sunday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., and at the Golden Nugget Market in Lambertville, NJ, Sunday from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

You'll find us this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Eastern PA Fall Horse Expo in Allentown, PA,  and at at Rice's Market in New Hope, PA, Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Massachusetts, you'll find Kitchen Magic on Sunday at the Swansea Vendor and Craft Fair in Swansea, MA, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where Were You in 1979?

Since 1979, Kitchen Magic has provided quality kitchen refacing and remodeling to our customers at an affordable price. You've helped us become the largest kitchen refacer in the U.S. We will celebrate its 30th anniversary in November of this year, and to celebrate, we'll look back at some of what made 1979 special.

Earlier we looked back and reminisced about the top music hits for 1979. We also had a look at the top movies of that year. Last week we finished our look at the top TV shows.

If you were growing up or if you were a parent that year, you probably saw the Saturday morning cartoons of that era.  Two weeks ago, we looked at the lineup on NBC. Last week we looked at the lineup that was on CBS.

Family Fun: Leaf Cards

Fall is here, and with it lots of family fun! Here's an easy and inexpensive activity you can do with your kids.

You'll need:

some fallen autumn leaves
white or colored paper
an old newspaper
poster paint and brushes
pencils, crayons or pens

Cover a workspace on counter or tabletop with the newspaper.  Now take a piece of paper and fold it in half to make a card shape.

Take one of the leaves and put it on the newspaper, vein side up. Paint the leaf with poser pait.You can use one color for the entire leaf, or make different areas different colors.

Place the leaf vein side down on the paper and rub gently. You can repeat with other leaves if there is room on the paper. Let the paint dry.

Now write a happy message on the front of the card and inside, and voila! You and your kids have leaf cards to send to friends or family.
